Job Description: Recipe Developer (Hospitality and Tourism - Culinary Arts)
Position Overview:
The Recipe Developer will be responsible for creating and developing innovative recipes tailored to meet the specific needs and preferences of our hospitality and tourism organization. This role requires a strong understanding of culinary arts, a creative mindset, and the ability to balance flavor profiles, nutrition, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and create unique and flavorful recipes for various hospitality and tourism establishments.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chefs, nutritionists, and marketing, to ensure recipes align with organizational goals and objectives.
3. Conduct comprehensive research on culinary trends, regional cuisine, and dietary requirements to enhance recipe offerings.
4. Adapt and modify existing recipes to meet specific dietary restrictions or preferences.
5. Experiment with new ingredients, techniques, and flavor combinations to continually improve recipe offerings.
6. Ensure recipes are cost-effective by considering ingredient availability, seasonality, and pricing.
7. Create accurate and detailed recipe documentation, including ingredient lists, step-by-step instructions, and serving suggestions.
8. Conduct recipe testing and evaluate results to ensure consistency, taste, and presentation meet established standards.
9. Collaborate with culinary and operational teams to scale recipes for large-volume production.
10. Stay updated with industry best practices, food safety regulations, and emerging culinary trends.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Recipe Developer, Culinary Specialist, or similar role within the hospitality and tourism industry.
2. In-depth knowledge of culinary arts, flavor profiles, and food science.
3. Strong understanding of different cuisines, regional ingredients, and cultural food practices.
4. Demonstrated creativity and ability to develop unique and appealing recipes.
5. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate recipe documentation.
6. Ability to adapt recipes to meet dietary restrictions or preferences, while maintaining flavor and presentation.
7. Solid understanding of cost control principles and experience in creating cost-effective recipes.
8. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
9. Proficient in recipe scaling and experience in large-volume production.
10. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
11. Culinary degree or certificate from an accredited institution is preferred.
12. Proactive attitude, ability to work independently, and meet deadlines.
